Collaborative Law

Collaborative Law is a non-confrontational approach to dispute resolution. It involves both parties involved in a dispute sitting down, each with their own solicitor trained in collaborative law, and working together to find a mutually acceptable solution. This is often significantly faster, less emotionally draining and more cost-effective than pursuing court action to resolve a dispute.

Arbitration

Arbitration helps separating couples reach financial settlements without going to court. Both parties meet with a neutral, specially trained arbitrator, who listens to both sides, then decides an outcome. Both parties agree to be bound by the outcome before the arbitration begins, so this offers a way to reach a final outcome that is often faster, less expensive and less formal than court action. Thornton Jones partner Clare Thornton is one of the few qualified family arbitrators in the UK, making this a service few other firms of solicitors can offer.
